KM 0 – When travelling all around the
country you will notice a cemented slab of concrete protruding by the road
oftentimes colored yellow. In Rizal park or Luneta, specifically Rizal Monument
near the highest flagpole in the Philippines
lies the KM 0 concrete slab, this is the point of origin in measuring
the distances between towns and porovinces all over the Philippines. This is
also the start of our journey The Road
trip around the Philippines through the Western Nautical Highway from Luzon to
Mindanao and Eastern Nautical Highway from Mindanao to Luzon.
Starting
at KM 0 proceed to South Super Hi-way to Batangas city pier. Before entering
the Pier you will pass a toll gate where you pay the Terminal fees. Proceed to
the docking Bay to ride your RORO vessel to Mindoro. We departed at around
0930PM and arrive at around 1130PM. During waiting time and sea travel I
normally try to sleep in the car and rest.
From
Calapan, Mindoro Or. drive continously
bound to Dangay Port in Roxas Mindoro. The road are all cemented and the travel
time is around 3 hours. Travel Distance is around 140KM.
Again we rested here and rode the frist trip
at 0800H bound to Caticlan Port. Arrived Caticlan at around 1130H.
In
Caticlan we left our car in one of the pay parking facilitry near the port. We
then proceeded to Boracay for a three day luisure stop over.
From
Caticlan Proceed to Aklan – Baybay Capiz where we have our dinner at the famous
seafood restaurants in Baybay city Capiz.. After dinner proceed to Dumagas,
Iloilo for the trip to Bacolod. Total distance from Caticlan to Dumagas is
around 120KM. This may vary if you have some side trips made. Roads are all
cemented.
The
RORO trip from Dumagas to Bacolod is around two hours. We
arrive at around 1AM and took Midnight snack in Bacolod McDO which is
open 24HRS. We then proceeded to Mambukal resort in Murcia. We stay until the
afternoon, and proceeded to Dumaguete Via Mabinay. On the way we visited Mag
aso falls in Kabankalan. Roads are all cemented. Distance covered 300KM.
We
arrived Dumaguete at around 8pm took dinner and rest. In the morning rode the
RORO vessel bound to Dapitan. Travel time is around 4 hours. From Dapitan you
can now go to different provinces in Mindanao.
DAPITAN TO ZAMBOANGA CITY/ BASILAN/JOLO
From
Dapitan proceed to Sindangan- Ipil – Tungawan then Zamboanga City. Total KM is
around 320. All roads are cemeted. From Zamboanga city you can ride ferry to
Basilan or Jolo. I have never travelled to Basilan or Jolo but the Zamboan city
trip I have done several times.
DAPITAN TO OZAMIZ/TANGUB CITY
From Dapitan proceed to Oroqueta then Ozamiz
for a total of 130 KM. You can also
proceed to TANGUB City from Ozamiz.
Additional 25KM travel.
You
can ride a ferry from Ozamiz to Mukas
Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte and proceed to Iligan, Cagayan de Oro or Davao
city. All roads are cemented.
DAPITAN TO PAGADIAN
From
Dapitan to Dipolog to Sergio Osmena to Molave to Pagadian. Travel distance is
around 140KM. All roads are cemented.

DAPITAN TO DAVAO CITY via – Cotabato city – Kidapawan City – Davao
City
From
Dapitan to Dipolog to Sergio Osmena to Molave to Pagadian to SND then Malabang
– Parang – Cotabato - Kidapawan - Davao city. Travel distance is
around 500KM
DAPITAN TO CAGAYAN DE ORO
From
Dapitan to Dipolog to Sergio Osmena to Molave to Aurora proceed to Kapatagan to
Iligan then Cagayan de Oro. Distance travel is around 325KM. All roads are
cemented.
From
Cagayan de oro you can go to Davao via Malaybalay – Valencia to Quezon to BUDA
then Davao city. Distance covered 300KM
All roads are cemented.
Cagayan
de roro to Butuan – Tagum – Davao Distance is 520 KM. All roads are cemented.
DAPITAN TO CAGAYAN DE ORO to SURIGAO CITY
From
Dapitan to Dipolog to Sergio Osmena to Molave to Aurora to Kapatagan to Iligan
to Cagayan de Oro, Gingoog City, then
proceed Butuan, then LIPATA Surigao City. (Lipata is the gateway to EASTERN
NAUTICAL HIGHWAY) Distance travel is around 620KM. All roads are cemented.
Expenses without meals. Total distance
